MRI all clear!

Just Passed

I got a call from my breast surgeon today! My MRI came back all clear; no abnormalities whatsoever–YAY!!

What a difference a year makes. A year ago, I found my lump and one of the most stressful tests I had to take a few weeks after my diagnosis was the MRI:( 35 minutes where I couldn’t move and this blaring sound like there’s going to be an air raid going off while the machine is running!

The technician had to insert an IV to administer the contrast dye and he had trouble finding my vein in my right arm. I offered to try my left arm and he said, “No we can’t use that arm because your cancer is on the left side so you are probably blocked in your lymph nodes.” I burst out crying and lost it because I was so stressed at the time. He then held my hand and I cried even more.

Turns out that he was wrong! Not only were my lymph nodes not blocked, he had no business making that kind of diagnosis as he is not a doctor which is what my breast surgeon said when I told her what happened.

I was then told that the last 15 minutes were the most crucial because if I moved after they injected the dye, I would have to come back and do the test again!

When it came time to do my MRI this year, I was supposed to go back to the same place as the first MRI. I called my doctor’s office and told them I didn’t want to go back there given that I had a bad experience. So I got to go to another place and the experience was so much better. I explained to the tech to not go for a vein that everyone can feel but no one can get and she listened to me so I only got poked once.

Although the sound was still loud and obnoxious, I actually fell asleep I think for about five minutes while doing counting breaths. I guess I didn’t have any doubt this time that the results would be clear:-) Thank goodness!

Congrats!! I switched my Chemo Distribuitor(lol) because my hecptin should take an hour and last two times it took them 5 hours and I missed my Radiation. I was done with them not my Doctor and said I want no further treatment from that place. I’m now having it where I wanted to go from the beginning. I get the emotional tide when you get stressed it comes out very easily! Congrats!! Big hug enjoy your blog.
